Do not get confused because the planet is blue. The color of water in the sea appears blue because it is reflecting the blue light from the Sun’s rays and absorbs other colours. Try to fill in your bathtub with water: Water in a glass appears without colour but in high quantity it starts getting a kind of azure colour because of light reflection . The deeper we go more light is absorbed and thus the sea appears blue. Sometimes the plants and whats is inside the oceans contributes to the color of the sea.
